Consultation & Fee Policy

Initial Consultation:

I will be pleased to assist you in your initial inquiries via a telephone consultation. I will charge a sum of US $ 100.00 (one hundred) for a consultation of up to 30 (thirty) minutes. I charge US $ 150.00 for a consultation of up to one hour.  You are under no obligation to retain my services following the consultation. If you do retain my services within seven days of our consultation, I will credit the full cost of the consultation toward your legal fee/retainer of US $ 300.00 or more (Please see below for details).
Please follow this procedure in setting up a telephone consultation:

  • Use the form below to submit your contact information to me;
  • Contact me via phone at (330)376-6766 to set up a date and time for the consultation; I do not accept credit cards, so I will require payment by check or money order prior to the consultation;
  • Please mail me a check/money order for the consultation fee of US $ 100.00 together with a copy of any pertinent immigration or other papers, for example, a copy of your resume, passport, and Form I-94 and a summary of your situation;
  • Call me at the agreed set time for the consultation. I will await your call. If I am on the phone, please be sure to leave your name and phone number so I can call back.

Win Free Consultation:

On this website, you will see a box titled "win free consultation".  If you click on this box, you will be taken to a page on which you will list your contact information.  The system will choose one of the entries in the contact database.  Depending on the number of inquiries received, the free consultation may be issued weekly or at longer intervals.

Here are some rules / restrictions on the "Win Free Consultation" policy:

1. If you list your name and contact info, you permit me to contact you with emails or information concerning your immigration questions

2. If you have already received a free consultation, please do not send in your entry for another free consultation, so that other visitors may have a chance too.

3. Existing clients / individuals who have already consulted with me are not eligible for the free consultation

4. The free consultation is limited to upto a maximum of a half-hour (30 minutes). If you choose to go over the 30 minutes, I reserve the right to charge you for the addditional time at my current consultation rate of US $ 100.00 for upto a half-hour.

5. If I notify you that you have won the Free Consultation, you will be eligible for upto a Half-hour consultation, and I will call you to arrange for a mutually convenient time for the consultation, which we can even have by telephone.

6. If you are overseas or are unreachable by telephone, we can have an e-mail consultation in which I can provide you with the information you need.  In order to maintain the integrity of the 30-minute limit on the free consultation, I reserve the right to determine if and when the e-mail exchange has been equivalent to a 30-minute consultation.

Legal Fees:

I bill on certain immigration matters on an hourly basis; for other immigration matters, I charge a flat fee. My fee depends on the facts and circumstances of each case. In all cases, you will be responsible for costs associated with the work I perform on your behalf. I may need a retainer for legal fees and costs before starting work on your case.

Service Guarantee:

There are, I am sure, any number of immigration attorneys who can assist you. The difference between good attorneys is probably not one of quality of work, but a more tangible matter: service. I pride myself on my service and responsiveness. In fact, a law practice is a service industry, and if I don't provide superb service, I am not any different from the hundreds of other immigration attorneys out there.

Some examples of my commitment to service:

  1. If you are an hourly client, I don't charge you for short, 3-5 minute phone calls for status updates, or general questions about your case. If you are a fixed-fee client, I will not charge you for reasonable calls related to the status of your case.
  2. Whether you are an hourly or a non-hourly client, I will be available to take your calls, or if I am unavailable, I will return your call within a reasonable time, generally within two- twelve hours. Your time and concerns are important to me.
  3. Once our case is concluded, you can always call me back with other immigration-related questions and I will be happy to consult with you for a reasonable time, at no charge, to guide you. A common example I hear is: "Farhad, you got me my H-1 visa...now I'm married...how do I bring my spouse to the USA to live with me?" No problem...I'll help you, even though sometimes it is a procedure that will put no money into my pocket. And if I don't know an answer - I'll research it for you or send you to someone who does, if your question is outside my area of practice.
  4. My experience and education in business issues helps clients who have to document complex commercial matters - eg: investor visas, intercompany transfers, ability to pay prevailing wages, etc. By limiting my practice to business and immigration issues, I am able to provide comprehensive solutions to my clients in these matters.

In conclusion, as in any matter involving the application of diverse facts and law, adjudicated by an agency or entity over which I have no control, I cannot guarantee a certain result. However, I do guarantee my utmost efforts on your behalf.
