In articles in the New York Times and as reported once again by CNN, former president and wannabe president again, Donald J Trump, has made more dire threats towards immigrants in the US.
Trump plots mass detention and deportation of undocumented immigrants should he regain power
Former President Donald Trump is planning a widespread expansion of his former administration’s hardline immigration policies if reelected to a second term in 2024, including rounding up a undocumented immigrants already in the US and placing them in detention camps to await deportation, a source familiar with the plans confirms to CNN.

In recent days, he has escalated his threats:

Having failed miserably in his previous attempts to detain and deport large numbers of aliens, shut off immigration from certain countries, and close American borders to aliens seeking asylum, second term wannabe president Trump has even more grandiose plans to impose hardship and suffering on immigrants.
Obviously, picking on immigrants is easy. It’s the low hanging fruit. We’ve known that for years. Immigrants, like criminals, are easy targets.
Even so, immigrants are not criminals. The only crime is trying to find a way to stay alive from oftentimes brutal and dictatorial governments, or criminal cartels which rule their lands with impunity.
Trump promises, if elected, to cut off all sources of aid to immigrants. He talks about detaining immigrants in camps, ending immigration, and then of course mass deportations. To fill these camps, Trump and his cronies will organize large-scale raids all across the nation to capture and detain “illegal” immigrants. While this draconian policy may seem far-fetched, it is quite possible that Trump will seek to implement it. Of course, they may be stopped by the courts, but until he is stopped, he will heap untold hardship on millions of people.
Think about that when you go to the polls next year. Especially, if you are an immigrant, or from a family of immigrants, think about what has made this nation great, and one of those factors will almost surely be immigration.
America is a magnet for immigrants. America is a magnet for jobs. America is a magnet for safety. People shouldn’t be penalized because America is such a great and attractive nation.
As a supposedly business-pro giant thinker, it is surprising that Trump does not realize that deporting millions of immigrants will only serve to weaken the US economy. Maybe Trump and his cronies should first look for US citizens who are willing and able to work at the jobs that will be left unfilled once Trump’s targets are deported.
