In another dramatic move – never mind the economic consequences – Trump seeks to revoke the Social Security numbers of immigrants, by adding them to the master list of Social Security numbers held by dead people, thereby invalidating those numbers.
Apart from causing great hardship to the immigrants themselves, Trump ends up, shooting America in the foot once again.
Immigrants use their legally-issued Social Security numbers -like do other individuals receiving income in the United States – to identify themselves on their tax returns.
If you don’t have a Social Security number, you can’t file a tax return.
Likewise, we need our Social Security numbers on a daily basis for day-to-day but still necessary tasks such as opening bank accounts, applying for credit, getting utility service, obtaining a residential lease, or getting a phone line.
By seeking to invalidate the social Security numbers of large swathes of the earning and tax-paying population, Donald Trump is displaying his superior knowledge of business and economy once again!
Demolish the ability of people who are actually contributing to making America great again, by destroying their ability to earn income legally, and pay taxes on that income.
Of course, under President Trump’s economic theory, receiving less taxes will definitely help the American economy.
However, a study from Yale University indicated that our country stands to lose billions of dollars in taxes each year if Trump makes it impossible for undocumented immigrants to work. This loss will be multiplied exponentially if Trump also limits or revokes the legally issued Social Security numbers of immigrants who work and contribute to the economy and America’s tax base.
Good job, President Trump! “Less Is More! Less Is Best” Reinventing economic theory once again! It’s a beautiful thing, and nobody has ever done it better!
